“D.A.P.’s Community Health Team stands and walks with the entire D.A.P. family and our community for the Desert AIDS Walk on October 22nd! Please join and walk with our fun and energetic team of committed advocates!”-Bruce Weiss, Director, Department of Community Health
The Desert AIDS Walk is celebrating 30 years of “Walking To Make A Difference”. Each year since 1987, when the historic first steps were taken, the Desert AIDS Walk, along with more than 2,500 community members have walked united to raise funds for the vital services provided by Desert AIDS Project.
The Desert AIDS Walk has made it possible for D.A.P. to provide their patients and clients with an unparalleled range of services including; medical and dental care, medications, food, housing, behavioral health counseling, back to work training and so much more all under one roof.
Collectively with the Desert AIDS Walk, the Get Tested Coachella Valley/Department of Community Health team will continue their tireless mission to get 100% of the Coachella Valley tested for HIV which is key to ending further HIV infection.
With each step we take and each dollar we raise, we can test more people, bring more people who are HIV positive into care, and move one step closer to an “AIDS free generation”.
