02 May Get Tested Coachella Valley to Receive Humanitarian Award!

Get Tested Coachella Valley is honored to be receiving the 2016 Humanitarian Award for Public Health Service at the 11th Annual Desert Nurses Appreciation Luncheon on Tuesday, May 10th.

Founded by the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce in 2005, the Desert Nurses Appreciation Luncheon acknowledges outstanding healthcare professionals and the value they bring to the Coachella Valley. The event is held each year during National Nurses Week (May 6-12) to celebrate the important role of nurses in the community.

The recipient is chosen by the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce leadership team and is presented to a person or organization that has has a direct, immediate and positive impact on the health of Coachella Valley residents. Past recipients include Angel Flight West and Desert Jet.

“Public health is all about the people,” said Susan Unger, Project Director of Get Tested Coachella Valley. “This award is a wonderful acknowledgement of the difference we can make when people pull together in the community. I’m proud of our team and grateful for our 100 partners.”

Approximately 160 frontline healthcare professionals will attend this year’s event at Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa.
